Hello everyone.
i am a warrior and i have been using hammers for the longest time, but a couple of days ago i got a vamperic dragon sword from a gift of the traveler. so i wanted to switch to swords just so i could use it. I currently have all 3 games plus eye of the north. in storage i haave 1 elite war tome and 7 reg tomes. If some would could please help me with an awesome pve sword build it would be greatly appreciated. BTW secondary prof can be anything Thank you all |

Anything works with a vampiric mod, but the faster you a attack the better the vamp gets, so you want to use a skill(s) that make you attack faster, frenzy for example.
Hunderd Blades is the best sword elite there is but that doesnt really benefit much from the vampiric mod. Crippling Slash is a great choice for pve since you can cripple the enemies that are tryigng to run past you to go for the casters Dragon Slash is nice, but in pve its not so great and hard to maintain. If you can maintain it most of the time, it could be a good choice, but personally i woudl advice against it. You could go with Primal Rage from strength, it requires some skil to be used to its most effectivness so a little training with it wouldnt be a bad idea. My suggestion would be to go with Primal Rage. Edit:If you were to go with PR i would run a bar something like.Barbarous slice, gash, sun and moon, power attack/final trust. You have your normal heal which should be lion's comfort and your run skill which should be enraging charge. Last edited by Xenex Xclame; Dec 31, 2009 at 07:06 AM // 07:06.. |

A Hunderd Blades build would work better in that case, couple yourself with a curses necro hero and there will be lots of damage.

well for one many people are asses. but just cuz ur an ass that dosent make one a noob. and there will always be thing that people dont know for me its how to make a good sword build. im just saying when ur doing a mission and someone purposfuly aggros ever enemy possible then starts to curse at the monk when they die. that person is a noob plus an ass. and there is never a problem with asking for help and thats the problem with most noobs is that they dont ask for help. so i just stick to myself

to be perfectly honest, best you're going to get out of a sword in pve would be dragon slash, supplemented by enduring harmony + for great justice in pvp, crippling with gash sun/moon, bull's strik, savage slash, frenzy, rush, res sig, primal rage is also good, but primal's a lot better with axes. 100b is ok despite not being maintainable. |

Throw in steelfang slash to use after headbutt. and either rez if you want or enduring harmony works great with for great justice |

Dragon Slash is the best sword elite for PvE, pretty much hands down.
Run it with FGJ and Enduring harmony/SY/Brawling headbutt and you can maintain constant damage, KD, and +100 armor for your party. |

I like Hundred Blades because its loleasy to play. Dslash is by far the best sword elite though, run that.
If you want to try something different you could try Battle Rage, that isn't that bad of an elite skill. |

the only skills in a sword build that maximize use of a vamp mod are S&M slash and Whirlywind, and an IAS.

Make sure you become monk as seconday prof and take the skill "Mending" Because then you won't have health loss!! (ettin farming ne1? =D)
JOKE! JOKE! Vamp mod is the best for the fast weapons (sword, axe ,dagger) It's way better then sundering on fast weapons so you should use it for every sword build actually. And just make sure you have an defensive set with you! so between fight you have no health loss |

Asking for builds is not allowed, so I won't tell you a build to use. The Warrior section of the Campfire would be a better place to ask about this anyway.
Having said that, I'll tell you to make sure to bring a second weapon that isn't vamp with you. Even if it isn't another sword, switch weapons when not in combat so you don't have the health degen. Real players will assume you are a noob if you sit there dying for no reason, and the Monks will hate healing you. If you use self heals like Mending or Healing Breeze, you WILL be a noob. But if you can find a Zealous, Sundering, Furious, Shocking/Fiery/Icy/Ebon sword for the second one to switch to, it will give you more options for your use in battle. |
